Amelia nodded solemnly as she listened to Celia’s reply. “I see. School is definitely a difficult thing at times, especially when it comes to paying for it. But, what you’re doing right now is very admirable. It’s refreshing to see someone who dreams of going to school rather than avoiding it.” As she seated herself at one of the tables, the scholar fond her mind wandering back to the academy and to one group of students in particular who were infamous for skipping her classes. While never taking their truancy personally, Amelia still felt a little unsettled about the students’ blatant disregard for something that would help them in their futures. “I wish more people showed such concern for their education.” She voiced aloud.

-blushes- O-oh, no. I’m just doing what I want, it’s nothing admirable! -brings over tea kettle and pours it into two cups- But… I know exactly what you mean. -sighs- A lot of people that I talk to, well, they honestly think I’ve gone insane or something. But I’ve always loved school, and learning, and all of it. I don’t understand how people can’t be addicted to the feeling of refreshment that comes to you every time you learn something new… -frowns- I practically live off of it, and I’ve done some crazy things just to get ahold of it. -shakes head- But I try to tell myself that people have different interests, and it’s only natural, I suppose, to be wanting to do more ‘fun’ things. -sits down- You sound like you know a lot about education, miss. May I ask why that is?

These days, it wasn’t often that Amelia interacted with those who were a lot younger than her. Since her academy days were put on an indefinite hiatus and archaeology (which, while it might have been cool at first, soon drove away a lot of the younger generation when it reached lecture-mode) was about all she knew how to talk about comfortably, she never really had a reason to strike up conversations outside her general age range. When speaking with Celia for as brief a time at she did, though, Amelia couldn’t help but be vaguely reminded of some of the students she had taught. Before she could delve back in to nostalgia, however, the scholar felt herself suddenly being led away by the waitress and, breaking from her momentary reverie, managed to stumble over one of her own boots.

“W-whoa!” Amelia tried to disguise her clumsiness as best as she could, taking a quick, inconspicuous look around to make sure nobody else had seen. “So, Celia,” She said when she had regained her footing and was sure nobody had noticed. “Are you a college student?”

-turns around- H-hey, are you alright? -giggles, and in response to the question, her smile fades away- Oh. Umm… -twiddles her fingers- No… though, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to be! Complications came up and I just barely was able to finish high school with all the things going on. -sighs- Right now, I’m trying to self-study and make enough money to go to college… it’s actually my dream.

-gets quiet for a moment, then suddenly perks up- Oh! I’m sorry. I honestly shouldn’t be so dramatic about a single question, heh. A-anyway, we’re here! Not so long of a walk, was it? -smiles- Sit down and make yourself at home, I’ll go brew the tea.

#i just felt a connection like this is genus and raine vjkndkj #except genus turned into a girl IDK OK it made sense in my head #also: *~character development~*

\shrugs and laughs\ Well when you put it that way, I suppose I seem pretty lucky. \laughs again\ I do indeed like kids. They’re adorable. But I don’t like ‘em as much as Ken… Ken’s just… \shakes head\ Nevermind.

I agree. Kids are almost as nice as cute as kitties! -giggles- Ken? -confused- He’s not a kid, is he? I think he’s actually quite older than I am… -frowns- But he sure acts like one. He just loves eating right in my face when I’m hungry. It’s not very nice.

@pinkklepto

Huh? Really? I’ve lived here long enough… -shakes head and smiles- I’m Taylor, a local here… Just in between a few jobs. -shakes her hand- I’m afraid I don’t know your name, lovely lady~

Really? Pardon me, then. I just recently came back from a trip and I just assumed that since I hadn’t met you before, well… -laughs awkwardly- Ah, I almost forgot! I’m Celia. If you didn’t know before, I work as a waitress at the bar. I do hope I’ll be seeing you frequently. -looks down and smiles-

#i can't seem to reply to your answer to my ask so this'll have to do ;u;

You enjoy dancing? -smiles- You ought to teach me one of these days! It’d be fun.

-giggles- It’s fine. Take as long as you need. I like reading. And studying! And lots of other things I can’t think of right now. Oh! I’m sounding like such a bore, aren’t I?

\scratches the back of his head and one hand shoved in his pocket\ Ehh, I’m the higher grades teacher… I have no idea why. My patience is the range of a small spoon. \laughs\

Well, at least it’s the higher grades. I would think you would need more patience for small kids. They don’t try to be obnoxious like the older ones do, but they sure are innocent to the point where it becomes hard to train. -smiles- I take it you like kids?

“It’s nice to meet you, Celia,” Amelia replied with a nod and a grin. “and I think your job as a waitress is pretty ‘cool’. You get to meet all sorts of new people, hear all sorts of stories, and you never know who’s going to walk through that door. It’s a lot like traveling except, well, minus the traveling part.” The archaeologist laughed. “Ah, sorry if I’m romanticizing things too much. I should take a break. I’d love to join you for a cup of tea.”

It’s nice to meet you too, Miss Amelia. -smiles- Ah, really? I never thought about it like that. No, no, it’s quite fine! It’s a good thing to be optimistic. I guess I’ll try to think of it that way from now on. -laughs- Yay, let’s get going then~ -takes Amelia by the hand-

“Urk, I didn’t mean it like that…” A nervous chuckle left Absolom’s lips. He had just been winking, not hinting at something else. “My apologies, I really am bad at wording things~” He sighed, scratching the back of his neck.

-pauses and stares awkwardly- Oh… W-well, it’s my fault for taking it that way. My apologies! -bows sheepishly-

#AWK #i totally thought you did omg

/if at all possible, goes even redder as she’s examined and fidgets with the hem of her dress/ ..mn… Th-thank you…I think..

/looks a bit startled at the admission that she breaks a lot of plates, and then manages a small smile/ I-it’s fine…I.. I would l-like to become friends.. too..

Well, you’re welcome… I think. -laughs- I’m just teasing.

Yay! -waves hands in the air- So… Thea… what do you like to do? Other than picking up broken plates, of course. -smiles-
